Government Launches Study in India (SII) Portal to Promote Global Education Hub

The government unveiled the Study In India (SII) platform on Thursday, which would provide an integrated one-stop solution for student registration and visa application.

Union External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan launched the portal with the goal of promoting India as a worldwide hub for education by inviting students from varied backgrounds.

Speaking to the audience, Jaishankar stated that the portal will assist the government in establishing a strong international footprint of brand India in the education field.

“I appreciate the portal’s integrated approach, which enables user-friendly application processes for international students, from registration to visa approval.” This simplifies…their entire experience, making it easier to select preferred courses and receive offers from relevant universities,” he said.

He also stated that the presence of international students will assist domestic students by bringing them closer to a globalised environment and better preparing them for the global workplace.

“It will bring students closer to the globalising world and better prepare them for the global workplace.” “Having students from other countries study with you allows you to gain a better understanding of their cultures, habits, traditions, and even thinking,” stated the foreign minister.

“When such students go back to their societies of origin, they truly become ambassadors of goodwill for India, sometimes even more so,” he added.

The portal, according to Education Minister Pradhan, is governed by the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and demonstrates the government’s aim to making India a “preferred education destination as well as to blur academic boundaries for shaping a prosperous future.”

“With Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of making education transcend geopolitical boundaries,” Pradhan stated, “Study In India Portal will be a pivotal step in making India a preferred destination for higher education among students worldwide.”
