GATE Exam 2024: Comprehensive Guide for Excelling in the Exam

Candidates should begin taking practice exam papers now that the GATE Exam Schedule 2024 is available to excel in GATE 2024. The exam is slated to take place on February 3–February 11, 2024, according to the announcement.

For particular engineering areas or subjects, such as Computer Science and Information Technology (CS), Electrical Engineering (EE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), etc., the GATE 2024 exam will have morning and afternoon sessions. The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bangalore is conducting it at several locations in India.

ONGC, NTPC, GAIL, HPCL, PGCIL, BHEL, BSNL, NHPC, BARC, and DRDO, among others, recruit candidates with GATE scores because it is a reliable indicator of a candidate’s strengths and prospects.

The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other prestigious universities across the nation are among the institutions where candidates can pursue Masters of Engineering (ME), Masters of Technology (MTech), and direct PhD courses with a GATE score.

Recent improvements

A new paper on the exam is called Data Science & Artificial Intelligence. To make GATE 2024 easier for students to access, the GATE committee has launched more centres in Telangana. Adilabad, Kothagudem, Medak, and Nalgonda are the new examination centres introduced for the current exam, according to the most recent announcement.

Previously, only Nizamabad, Suryapet Khammam, Kodad, Warangal, Karimnagar, and Hyderabad Gate Examination Centre were there under IT Madras and IISc Zone.

According to the GATE 2024 Brochure, those who are in their third year of engineering or science programmes are also eligible to apply for the exam.

There will be two papers available in the current GATE 2024 examination.

Exam structure

  • The GATE 2024 Examination will last for three hours.
  • There will be 65 questions in all on the exam.
  • There will be three types of questions: multiple-choice (MCQs), multiple-selected (MSQs), and numerical answer types (NATs).
  • There will be two marks for each question, for a total of 100 marks.
  • Each incorrect response in an MCQ will also result in a one-third (1/3) mark deduction.
  • No marks will be deducted for NAT or MSQ.
