G20 Summit 2023: Special Traffic Restrictions In Delhi For August 26-27 From 9:00 AM To 12:30 PM

As the 18th G20 Summit approaches, preparations are underway in New Delhi, India. The summit is scheduled to take place on September 9-10 at the Bharat Mandapam Convention Centre in Pragati Maidan. In anticipation of this significant event, rehearsals have been planned to ensure the smooth execution of proceedings.

Rehearsal Schedule and Traffic Advisory

The G20 Summit rehearsals are set to occur on August 26th and 27th, 2023, from 0900 hrs to 1230 hrs. To accommodate these rehearsals, the Delhi Traffic Police have issued a travel advisory. During the rehearsal hours, various traffic regulations will be enforced at different points across the city. It’s important for commuters to be aware of these regulations and follow the advisory to minimize disruptions.

Traffic Regulations and Impact on Commuters

The Delhi Traffic Police have outlined specific areas where traffic movement will be regulated during the rehearsal period. This is likely to lead to congestion on the listed roads and junctions. To ensure a smooth flow of traffic and maintain road discipline, motorists are urged to exercise patience and abide by traffic rules. Following the directions of Traffic Police personnel deployed at intersections is crucial to ensure a hassle-free journey.

Preparations for Summit and Restrictions

The Special CP Traffic, SS Yadav, has highlighted the importance of these rehearsals in preparing for the G20 Summit. Notably, restrictions on vehicular movement will be imposed from the night of September 7. Commercial vehicles will face significant restrictions, except for ambulances and vehicles transporting essential goods. Ambulance services and medical assistance will continue without interruption during this period.

Traffic Advisory and Assistance

To facilitate the movement of individuals and vehicles during the summit, the authorities are establishing a dedicated ambulance assistance control room. This control room will serve as a central point for coordinating ambulance services and responding to emergencies. A comprehensive traffic advisory will also be issued, providing information about various transportation options available during the event.
