First Sainik School for Girls Inaugurated in Vrindavan

The first Sainik school for girls in the country was opened in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh. The Vatsalya Gram Parisar is home to the Samvid Gurukulam Balika Sainya Vidyalaya. Students will receive military training in addition to a CBSE curriculum. The Sainik school will have a capacity of 120 students.

On January 21, a written exam will be administered, and chosen applicants will be required to attend e-counselling before a merit list is produced.

Three groups of girls will be admitted. They will get sports coaching and obstacle training from former soldiers or NCC trainers in addition to military training.

Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, and Rajnath Singh, the defence minister, dedicated the school to all girls in the nation.
According to a defense ministry statement, the first all-girls Sainik school, with a capacity of approximately 870 students, has been inaugurated as part of the initiative to establish 100 new Sainik schools in partnership mode with NGOs/private/state government schools in all states/UTs, of which 42 have been established.

Following the success of the defense ministry’s pilot project in Sainik school Chhingchhip in Mizoram, the government allowed the admission of female students to Sainik schools in stages beginning with the academic year 2021-22.
