The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) will introduce an alternative admission route outside the JEE Advanced system starting from the 2025-26 academic year. According to the institute's official release, students who excel in national and international Olympiads will be considered for admission. These Olympiads are prestigious competitions that assess students' expertise in various subjects.

The new admission pathway, titled 'Science Olympiad Excellence' (ScOpE), will operate independently of the JEE Advanced framework. Similar to the Sports Excellence Admissions and Fine Arts and Culture Excellence channels, ScOpE will offer two additional seats per program, one of which will be reserved exclusively for female students.
