It has mostly been quoted that not always what you desire or yearn for gets fulfilled; destiny is already decided and fortune plays a vital role in it. But, in the prevailing world of thousands of successful stories, there are some that prove the stated quote wrong. There are some anecdotes that make you believe in yourself besides depending on fate.
Dr. Raj Kamal Yadav, the District Magistrate of Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh has auspiciously imprinted his name with one of the most invigorating and inspiring stories of his life. The life of the erudite who cleared the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in his first attempt in the year 2013, was not a piece of cake. He had an uphill struggle, but Dr. Yadav conquered it with a smile.
The 36-year-old bagged 21st rank in UPSC CSE 2013 exam and became an IAS officer of the Uttar Pradesh Cadre. Dr. Yadav’s fervour to serve the country and stand by it made him highly ambitious to become an army officer. He appeared for numerous exams many times but failed to get success in them. Besides getting disheartened by his repetitive failures, Dr. Yadav chose to stay determined toward his dream. He just waited for the right time patiently and moved forward.
In an exclusive interview with The Federation of Leaders and Administrators (FELA) Foundation, Dr. Yadav said that he completed his primary and secondary education in his village. He studied at Sainik school and completed his graduation in Veterinary Science in Chennai and flew to America for further studies.
Talking about his dream, Dr. Yadav said that although he went to America for his studies, his heart resided in India and his mind reminded him of his motive every single minute. His father worked for Gramin Bank and suggested him to become an IAS officer in order to serve the country efficiently. Consequently, Dr. Yadav flew back to India to bring a new turnover to his life. He started preparing for UPSC and cracked it in one go, in the year 2013.
Raj Kamal Yadav is now holding the esteemed position of District Magistrate of Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh. His peerless contribution towards the growth of rearward cities is a true reflection of his unparalleled dedication towards the growth and development of the country.
Stating about some of his initiatives, Dr. Yadav said in the interview with The FELA, “There were more than 50 government schools in Baghpat that didn’t have tables and chairs for the students. Students use to bring sacks and many used to sit on the ground and study. We instilled the importance of well-structured schools in the growth of a young brain among people. We took the initiative to include tables and chairs in all the government schools. And, till now, we have successfully provided all the required furniture and appliances to more than 25 schools.”
“Education plays a vital role in the development and growth of a nation. And starting with this step is truly something that will lead to a better tomorrow,” he added. Besides, the alumnus of Sainik School has been ceaselessly working towards the implementation of the Government of India’s latest policies including the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, Yogi 2.0 Regime, among others.
When asked about how did he deal with the ups and downs of his life, Dr. Raj Kamal Yadav said that the key is ‘self-determination’. “If you are determined to achieve a certain path, no one can stop you to get there. You will become what you will for, in one way or the other,” he said.
Dr. Raj Kamal Yadav’s journey has truly become an inspiration to thousands of young aspirants across the globe and his impeccable endeavour in setting the growth bars high will keep on motivating a thousand others in the near future.
