This decision follows a mutual settlement agreement between Honey Singh and his wife, Shalini Talwar. The divorce proceedings were initiated after Ms. Talwar filed a domestic violence case against Honey Singh, accusing him of aggressive behavior, criminal intimidation, and resorting to violence.

The divorce decree was issued by Principal Judge (Family Court) Paramjit Singh on November 7. The court proceedings included an inquiry into the possibility of reconciliation between the couple, to which Honey Singh responded that there was no chance of reuniting.
Legal representation for Honey Singh was provided by Advocates Ishaan Mukherjee, Amrita Chatterjee, and Jaspal Singh, while Advocate Vivek Singh appeared for Shalini Talwar.
Honey Singh has addressed the allegations on social media, expressing his distress over the false and malicious claims. He emphasized that some of the allegations were directed at his family, who have been a steadfast source of support throughout his career. He stated his strong denial of the allegations and noted that the matter is currently sub-judice.
