Congress Chief Kharge Calls Meeting of Newly Formed CWC in Hyderabad

The newly formed CWC will meet on September 16 in Hyderabad, according to an announcement made by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday.

At a news conference conducted at the headquarters of the All India Congress Committee, Venugopal said that an extended meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CWC), which will include the heads of all Pradesh Congress Committees, will take place on September 17.

Venugopal and general secretary Jairam Ramesh said that on September 17 in the evening, a rally will be held close to Hyderabad where the party would reveal its pledges for the upcoming Telangana assembly elections.

On August 20, Congress chief Kharge reformed the CWC, keeping the old guard in place while giving the young people a voice and adding notable G23 group leaders like Shashi Tharoor and Anand Sharma to the 84-member highest decision-making body of the party.

The crucial CWC, which was established 10 months after Kharge assumed leadership, is comprised of 39 regular members, 32 permanent invitees, and 13 special invitees. These include Gourav Gogoi and Sachin Pilot, two fresh faces who are frequent members, as well as 15 women.
