The Single Girl Child Scholarship 2024 application period is now open, according to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). This program helps talented female students get beyond financial obstacles so they can finish their studies.
Students can use the official CBSE website to apply for the new scholarship or to renew their 2023 grant.
With a monthly award of Rs 500, the scholarship enables females to continue their study uninterrupted.
Eligibility for the CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship
This scholarship applies exclusively to academically outstanding single girl children. Applicants must fulfil the following conditions:
- Fresh Scholarship (X-2024): Students must have completed Class 10 in 2024 with a minimum of 60% marks and currently study in Class 11 at a CBSE-affiliated school.
- Renewal Scholarship (X-2023): Applicants must already be recipients of the 2023 scholarship and currently enrolled in Classes 11 or 12 in a CBSE-affiliated school.
- For Class 10, fees should not exceed Rs 1,500 per month (with a permissible 10% annual increase for Classes 11 and 12).
NRI students attending schools abroad have a tuition cap of Rs 6,000 per month.
Applicants must be Indian nationals and the only child of their parents.
Documents Needed for the CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship
Applicants need to upload:
A verified copy of their Class 11 mark sheet.
Aadhaar card linked to their bank account.
Bank details including account number, RTGS/NEFT/IFSC codes, and branch address.
A verified copy of the bank passbook or a cancelled cheque.
How to Apply for CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship:
- Visit the CBSE official website.
- Select ‘Single Girl Child Scholarship X-2024 REG.’
- Choose ‘Fresh Application’ or ‘Renewal’ as applicable.
- Complete the form, upload the documents, and submit.
- Download and print the submitted form for future reference.
