Will Prashant Kishor Apologise Or Face Rs 100 Crore Defamation
A political storm is brewing in Bihar after state minister Ashok Choudhary sent a defamation notice worth Rs 100 crore to political strategist and Jan Suraaj Party founder, Prashant Kishor. The controversy comes after Kishor alleged that Choudhary was involved in a land scam worth nearly Rs 200 crore an accusation the minister dismissed as baseless.
Choudhary has demanded that Kishor either provide concrete proof of his allegations or issue a public apology within a week. Failure to comply, he warned, will push the matter further into legal battles. The minister argued that such accusations had deeply harmed his public image and integrity, and he cannot allow his reputation to be tarnished without consequence.
Kishor, on the other hand, remains defiant. He has said he is not someone who bows to political pressure and is prepared to defend his words in court if necessary. According to him, such allegations have been “circulating in public discourse” for a long time, and he has merely given voice to them. With Bihar’s assembly elections approaching in 2025, this episode has gone beyond a personal dispute. It now symbolizes a larger power struggle between established politicians and rising challengers who use aggressive rhetoric to capture public attention.
In the days ahead, all eyes will be on Kishor will he present evidence strong enough to support his charges, or will he face the daunting Rs 100 crore claim? Either way, the outcome could reshape political narratives in Bihar in the coming months.
