T-Series Staffer Tragic End Allegations of Workplace Harassment Lead to FIR

In a heartbreaking incident in Gurgaon, 47-year-old Manoj Kumar, an assistant manager at T-Series, took his own life on September 16, 2025. Having served the company for over two decades, Kumar was found deceased at a company-owned residence in Sobha International City, Sector 109. Prior to his death, he sent a video message to his wife, Rekha Rani, alleging workplace harassment by a senior official, the company's Managing Director, and a female relative of the owner. In the video, Kumar claimed to have been threatened and referred to the company's influential connections, even mentioning a notorious gangster. His wife confirmed that he had been distressed over workplace harassment and named specific individuals in her police complaint. Based on her report, an FIR was filed under sections 108 (abetment of suicide) and 3(5) (criminal act done by several persons) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

 

The incident has raised serious concerns about workplace harassment and the mental well-being of employees. The police have initiated an investigation into the matter, treating it as a case of abetment to suicide. This tragic event highlights the urgent need for companies to address workplace harassment and ensure a supportive environment for their employees.
