SBI launches Rs 90 crore Asha Scholarship benefitting 23,230 students from underprivileged backgrounds

SBI Foundation, the corporate social responsibility wing of State Bank of India, has launch the SBI Platinum Jubilee Asha Scholarship 2025, allocating Rs 90 crore to support 23,230 bright student from modest and underprivileged background. The scholarship, which begin in 2022, is intend to support higher education and access for student from underserved community, aligning with the banks inclusive growth and nation-building goal.

Eligible recipient include student from Class 9 to postgraduate study. Financial assistance range from Rs 15,000 up to Rs 20 lakh annually, depending on the program and level of study, and continue until completion of the selected course. The scheme apply to student in NIRF top-300 or NAAC-A rated institutes or college. Also eligible are IITs, IIMs, medical college; those seeking to study abroad; and SC/ST student pursuing higher education abroad in university ranked in the top 200 by QS.

The application window open from September 18, 2025, and remain open till November 15, 2025. SBI emphasise that through this scholarship, it aim to nurture the brightest mind from humble background, enabling them to realise their potential and contribute meaningful to national progress.

In delivering this, SBI Foundation combine financial aid with the idea of creating supportive ecosystem around scholars so that barrier to education specially for those from less-advantaged family are reduce.
