The Delhi Police have launched an investigation into a major fire that broke out at Dilli Haat in South Delhi’s INA area on Wednesday night, gutting over 30 shops. According to officials, CCTV footage from multiple locations will be examined to ascertain the cause of the blaze. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported.

A senior police officer stated that several teams have been formed to conduct a detailed probe into the incident. The investigation will also focus on verifying the response time of the fire services. Thirteen fire tenders were rushed to the site to control the flames, which had engulfed a significant portion of the popular open-air market.

The fire, which broke out late in the evening, caused extensive damage, with goods worth several crore rupees destroyed. Dilli Haat, known for its handicrafts, food stalls, and artisan shops, draws both locals and tourists. The incident has raised concerns about fire safety measures in public marketplaces.
