Kuvempu University Postpones BA Kannada Exam After Question Paper Error

Kuvempu University Postpones BA Kannada Exam After Question Paper Error

The optional Kannada exam for sixth-semester BA students at Kuvempu University, scheduled for Saturday, was postponed due to errors in the question paper provided to students.

Kuvempu University Vice-Chancellor Sharath Ananthamurthy confirmed the development to Deccan Herald, stating that the Registrar (Evaluation) acknowledged the mistakes in the paper. While the title of Question Paper-13 was accurate, the questions themselves were unrelated to the prescribed syllabus.

He clarified that the content was not a repetition of Question Paper-11, which had been used in a previous exam, but rather entirely irrelevant to the current curriculum. Ananthamurthy added that a notice would be issued to a syndicate member—who is also a principal of one of the university's affiliated colleges—for their negligence in the matter.

A new date for the exam will be announced soon.

Principal Channesh of Government First Grade College told DH that students were shocked upon receiving the question paper at around 8:50 a.m., as it appeared to contain questions from an earlier exam. Once the discrepancy was reported, university authorities acknowledged the mistake and postponed the exam.

The exam was originally scheduled to be held from 8:50 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and carried a total of 60 marks.
