IGNOU Opens Registration for Online and Distance Learning Programs for July 2025 Session
The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has started the registration process for admissions to its Online and Distance Learning (ODL) programs for the July 2025 session. Interested and eligible candidates can apply through the official portal ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in before the last date, July 15, 2025. Registrations are currently open for both online courses and distance education modes, making higher education accessible to a wider range of students across India. Additionally, applicants can avail scholarships via the National Scholarship Portal to support their studies.
A key requirement for admission this year is the mandatory creation of a Distance Education Bureau (DEB) ID, as per the University Grants Commission (UGC) guidelines. This unique ID ensures that candidates enrolling in online or distance education programs are officially recognised by Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Applicants must generate their DEB ID before filling out the admission form. The process involves first creating an Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) ID, followed by registering for the DEB ID by providing essential details like mobile number and email address. IGNOU has advised students facing difficulties during registration to seek assistance from nearby regional or study centres or contact university helplines.
Meanwhile, IGNOU has also released the admit cards for the June 2025 Term-End Examinations (TEE). Candidates appearing for these exams can download their hall tickets from IGNOU’s official websites, ignou.ac.in and ignou.samarth.edu.in. The university continues to facilitate flexible learning opportunities, combining traditional distance education with online modes to cater to diverse student needs across the country.
