Prime Minister Modi took to social media to greet everyone, saying, “Heartfelt Dhanteras greetings to all! I pray for everyone’s happiness, prosperity, and good health.” His message touched millions who were already out in markets buying gold, utensils, and other lucky items traditions believed to bring fortune and success throughout the year.
Modi also mentioned Lord Dhanvantari, who is considered the god of health and healing in Hindu mythology, and prayed that his blessings keep every Indian safe and healthy.
