In a bold step to make career safe for the future, the Delhi government has initiated an initiative of Rs 170 crore, under which fifteen industrial training institutes (ITIs) will be modernized. This will include state -of -the -art courses such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotics, Electric Vehicles (EV) maintenance and green energy. The purpose of this visionary upgrade is to connect traditional skills training with tomorrow's technology-based industries, so that young Delhiites can easily enter high-civilian sectors directly from ITI classes.

The initiative is part of the comprehensive national plan of ITI upgradation, which is getting assistance from a huge fund of Rs 60,000 crore jointly supported by the Asian Development Bank and the World Bank. By adding advanced courses to its professional institutions, Delhi is not only taking steps to suit global trends, but also opening new doors for emerging employment markets-such as robotics, AI-based automation, electric vehicles and renewable energy.

Imagine a student in Delhi learning to maintain EVs or program robotics skills once confined to far-off tech hubs. Now, they’re being made accessible right in their local ITIs. Not only does this reduce the urban talent drain, but it also positions the capital as a beacon for vocational innovation, making technical education more relevant, modern, and inclusive.
