Celebrating Excellence: 45 Teachers Honoured with National Awards
There's something incredibly moving about teachers being honoured for their unwavering dedication and this year, the Department of School Education & Literacy shines a spotlight on 45 true changemakers. Selected through a transparent, three-tiered process district, state, and national the awardees represent a diverse cross-section: 27 states, 7 union territories, and 6 organizations. It’s a true testament to the kind of inclusive excellence India cherishes. Among them are 24 men and 21 women, reminding us that passion for teaching knows no gender boundaries.
From Delhi's Rohini to the quiet plains of Meghalaya, these teachers have been honoured not only for imparting knowledge from Kandhan Kumuson of Endman and Nicobar to Tanushree Das of West Bengal, but also for enriching life. Their honour ceremony will be held on 5 September 2025, Teachers' Day - it is a true tribute to the teachers whose lessons often give direction to life far beyond the classroom.
All this starts with a simple enrolment, which was invited between 23 June to 20 July 2025, so that teachers across the country can share their stories and gain identity. These awards are not just honours, but are a celebration of those silence and firm contributions that teachers play in fretting future, arousing curiosity and increasing confidence.
So next time you see a teacher going that extra mile, remember these 45 heroes celebrated on a national stage for doing what they do best: guiding, caring, and teaching with heart.
