Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi Summoned by Pune Court Over 'Jolly LLB 3'

A civil court in Pune has issued summons in connection with the film Jolly LLB 3 to director Subhash Kapoor along with Bollywood star Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi. The summons was taken out after a petition filed by lawyer Wajed Rahim Khan, alleging that the film makes fun of the judicial system and insults the court proceedings.

The petition specifically objected to the scene in which the judges are addressed by the word "uncle". Khan argues that such a depiction hurts the dignity of the judicial profession.

The court has directed the trilogy to appear personally at 11 am on October 28. The summons comes after the release of the first teaser of the film, which has created a controversy.

Jolly LLB 3 This is the third instalment of this legal comedy franchise. The first part, including Arshad Warsi in the lead role, proved to be a sleeper hit at the box office in 2013 and earned around Rs 50 crore on a budget of Rs 10 crore. Its sequel, including Akshay Kumar in the lead role, was a super hit and earned more than 200 crores worldwide. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on 19 September 2025.
