AICTE Partners with NHIDCL

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (NHIDCL), a CPSE under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, have reached an agreement to offer internships to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) students.

The agreement was signed by Nitin Sharma, executive director of NHIDCL, and Dr. Buddha Chandrasekhar, AICTE’s principal coordinating officer.

Dr Krishan Kumar, NHIDCL’s managing director, has created an online site for the internship scheme. This project aims to provide experiential learning opportunities to undergraduate and graduate students across the country, particularly in the North-Eastern Region, the UTs of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The platform was launched in the presence of authorities from NHIDCL and AICTE.

The five-year agreement describes the duties and responsibilities of AICTE and NHIDCL. AICTE will offer technical assistance for the platform, while NHIDCL will manage the program’s programmatic and non-technical aspects.

“Both NHIDCL and AICTE, as premier National Organisations in their respective fields, are committed to working together as a team to achieve national objectives of skilling and providing opportunities to UG/ PG students in the country,” a press release issued to that effect read.
