Iran’s Shadloui Becomes Costliest Player In Pro Kabaddi League Auction

Iranian kabaddi player Mohammadreza Shadloui Chiyaneh emerged as the most expensive overseas player during the Pro Kabaddi League auction, as he was acquired by the Puneri Paltan for a hefty sum of Rs 2.35 crore. Additionally, his compatriot Fazel Atrachali was the second-highest overseas player, joining the Gujarat Giants for Rs 1.60 crore. Meanwhile, Maninder Singh will continue his journey with the Bengal Warriors, as the team exercised its Final Bid Match (FBM) card to secure their captain for Rs 2.12 crore. He is now the second-highest domestic player and third overall.

The 10th edition of the Pro Kabaddi League will feature a total of 137 matches, including 132 league stage matches followed by playoffs consisting of five matches, including two eliminators, two semifinals, and the final.

The base prices for category A and B players were set at Rs 30 lakh and Rs 20 lakh, respectively. In categories C and D, the base prices were established at Rs 13 lakh and Rs 9 lakh, respectively. The two-day auction kicked off with 12 teams participating and bidding for players from categories A and B, both Indian and overseas, with the auctions for categories C and D scheduled for the following day.
