Disappointment Over Comedian Nishant Suri Canceling His Bengaluru Show

The audience in Bengaluru was left disappointed when stand-up comedian Nishant Suri had to cancel his show on October 13 due to non-payment of dues by the event organizers, The Entertainment Factory. The winner of Comicstaan Season 1 took to Instagram to express his frustration, revealing that the organizers even went to the extent of sending a forged screenshot of the money transfer. This incident sheds light on the challenges faced by artists in the entertainment industry.

In a candid Instagram post, Nishant Suri explained the unfortunate situation. He mentioned that he was already in Bangalore, and the decision to cancel the show was unfair to the ticket holders. The Entertainment Factory, he claimed, owed substantial amounts to other comedians and had court cases filed against them. Furthermore, they had resorted to sending a forged screenshot of the money transfer to him.

Nishant Suri acknowledged that he had been warned by fellow comedians and agencies about the unreliability of working with these event organizers. He expressed his disappointment, especially considering that a reputable brand like @pmcbangalore was involved in the event. Despite waiting until the last moment, he was ultimately “ghosted” by the organizers, who stopped answering calls and messages.

The situation extended beyond non-payment to Nishant Suri. Even the driver arranged to pick him up for the event had not been paid. This added a layer of frustration to an already challenging experience.

Nishant Suri reassured the ticket holders in the comments section that refunds were being processed and would be credited within ten days. However, the event organizers, The Entertainment Factory, have not issued an official statement regarding the incident.

Several comedians showed solidarity with Nishant Suri and shared their own experiences with unreliable event organizers. They highlighted the prevalence of such issues in the industry and expressed their frustration with non-payment.
