‘3 Idiots’ actor Akhil Mishra dies at 67

Veteran actor Akhil Mishra, celebrated for his iconic portrayal of Librarian Dubey in the Bollywood hit ‘3 Idiots,’ has tragically passed away at the age of 67. The news of his untimely demise, which has left the entertainment world in mourning, was confirmed by his wife and fellow actress, Suzanne Bernert. Mishra had been actively engaged in a shooting project in Hyderabad at the time of his unfortunate accident.

The unfortunate incident unfolded as Mishra was in the midst of daily life, seated in the kitchen when an unforeseen mishap occurred. Reportedly, he slipped and sustained a head injury. Mishra was subsequently discovered in a distressing state, surrounded by a pool of blood. Swiftly rushed to a medical facility, his condition remained critical despite the tireless efforts of medical professionals, eventually leading to his passing a few hours later.

A close friend and life coach of Mishra, Kulwinder Bakshi, provided additional insight into the incident, suggesting that the actor had fallen from a building during the incident.

Akhil Mishra, a versatile talent in the Indian film industry, graced the silver screen in various memorable roles, including notable appearances in ‘Don,’ ‘Gandhi My Father,’ and ‘Shikhar.’ However, it was his endearing portrayal of Librarian Dubey in ‘3 Idiots’ that endeared him to audiences worldwide. Beyond the realm of cinema, Mishra left an indelible mark on television, participating in popular shows such as ‘Uttaran,’ ‘Udaan,’ ‘CID,’ ‘Shrimaan Shrimati,’ and ‘Hatim,’ among others.

Akhil Mishra’s personal life was intertwined with his professional journey, as he shared his life with German actress Suzanne Bernert. The couple initially tied the knot on February 3, 2009, and later reaffirmed their commitment in a traditional ceremony on September 30, 2011.
