Netflix: Upcoming Web-Series and Movies in August

As August continues, Netflix is set to deliver an array of exciting new movies and web series. Here’s a glimpse of what’s in store for the latter half of the month:

Depp v. Heard Starting from August 16, the three-part documentary series “Depp v. Heard,” directed by Emma Cooper, delves into the high-profile Johnny Depp v. Amber Heard trial. The series offers a unique perspective on the defamation lawsuit between the celebrity couple, incorporating testimonies from both parties and utilizing over 200 hours of live-streamed trial coverage from the press and social media. It explores the influence of social media on the trial’s outcome, raising questions about its impact on the verdict.

Guns & Gulaabs Premiering on August 18, the action comedy series “Guns & Gulaabs” presents a star-studded cast including Dulquer Salmaan, Gulshan Devaiah, Rajkummar Rao, and Adarsh Gourav. The series, created by Raj & DK, follows these characters as they find themselves embroiled in a complex adventure involving a politician. The Monkey King Anthony Stacchi’s animated fantasy action film “The Monkey King,” streaming from August 18, draws inspiration from the Chinese novel “Journey to the West.” The story follows the mischievous Monkey King, voiced by Jimmy O. Yang, as he teams up with a young girl in search of immortality. Their journey leads them to confront the powerful Dragon King, portrayed by Bowen Yang.

Destined With You Beginning on August 23, “Destined With You” presents an epic love story between Lee Hong-jo and Jang Shin-yu. Lee Hong-jo becomes the keeper of an ancient wooden chest that holds the key to breaking an ancient curse plaguing Jang Shin-yu’s family for generations. The series is sure to deliver romance and intrigue.

Ragnarok S3 On August 23, the third and final season of the Norwegian fantasy series “Ragnarok” returns. The season promises a grand showdown between Magne and his companions against their adversaries. With Laurits acquiring a unique companion, the legendary World Serpent, Jormungandr, their battle takes a mythical turn.
