In the latest season of the popular Indian television quiz show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 15’ (KBC), 21-year-old Jaskaran Singh from a small village in Khalra, Punjab, made history by becoming the first contestant to win one crore rupees. The show is hosted by Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan.
In an exclusive interview with IndiaToday.in, Jaskaran Singh expressed his joy at winning one crore rupees, saying, “I was happy for the fact that I finally won one crore rupees. The moment when Amitabh Bachchan sir hugged me was special.”
Sharing his experience of being on ‘KBC 15’ with Amitabh Bachchan, Singh said, “When we were sitting on the fastest-finger-first chairs, I was thinking, ‘Why hasn’t Amitabh Bachchan sir come yet?’ The shoot had already begun, and when he made an entry, I went blank for 5-10 minutes. I was wondering if he was the same Amitabh Bachchan whom I’ve been watching on TV for the past 4 years.”
In the final stages of the game, Jaskaran Singh decided to quit and was praised by Amitabh Bachchan for his decision. Singh revealed that he didn’t attempt the last question because he was not familiar with the subject matter. The question was related to mythology, specifically the Padma Purana, and asked, “According to the Padma Purana, which king had to live as a tiger for a hundred years due to a deer’s curse?”
Jaskaran Singh’s journey on ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 15’ captured the hearts of viewers, and his historic win was a moment of celebration for the show’s fans.
