Canada-based singer Shubhneet Singh, popularly known as Shubh, is encountering significant backlash ahead of his scheduled tour across various Indian cities. This backlash stems from allegations of his support for separatist Khalistani elements and the sharing of a distorted map of India on his Instagram Story during the Punjab police’s hunt for fugitive Amritpal Singh.
Several members of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BYJM) have accused the singer of backing Khalistani separatist movements. The controversial Instagram Story depicting a distorted map of India, excluding Punjab and Jammu-Kashmir, has contributed to the controversy surrounding the singer.
Indian cricket sensation Virat Kohli, who had previously shown his support for Canda-based singer by enjoying his songs, has taken the step of unfollowing the singer on social media, according to reports. This move suggests that Kohli may be distancing himself from Shubh due to the ongoing controversy.
Demanding the cancellation of Shubh’s upcoming shows in India, the President of BJYM Mumbai asserted that there is no place for individuals who support Khalistani separatism in the country. He emphasized the importance of maintaining the integrity and unity of India, vowing opposition if proper action is not taken.
Critics have shared pictures of Still Rollin along with his posts displaying the distorted map of India and his celebration of Chandrayaan-3’s success. These critics argue that Shubh’s actions, such as sharing the distorted map, are inconsistent with his current celebration of India’s achievements. They allege that Shubh may be using his Indian tour to propagate Khalistani propaganda, despite earning money from Indian audiences.
