Zomato Delivery Agent Assaulted by Drunk Men in Delhi
In worrying incident in Delhi's Narela area, a Zomato delivery agent was reportedly harassed and assaulted by two drunk persons on September 29, 2025. The trouble started when the delivery agent reached a house to deliver order but met with refusal of payment from the customers.
According reports, the two men, one of them later known as Rishi Kumar, verbally abused the delivery agent and also physically attacked when insist on payment. Situation got worse when Rishi Kumar misbehave with police officers came to scene after delivery agent called them for help.
Police detained Rishi Kumar and done medical check-up, which showed he was under influence of alcohol at the time. Despite attack, delivery agent choose not to file formal complaint, saying want to continue work without more problem. Because of this, authorities counsel Rishi Kumar and released him, while inquiry still going on.
This incident raised big concerns about safety and wellbeing of delivery workers, who face problems like late payments, fights with customers, and sometimes even physical threat. Gig economy, while giving flexible jobs, also give many risks, especially when working late night or in isolated areas.
