When Kindness Turns Cruel: The Noida Delivery Boy’s Harrowing Betrayal
In what began as a mundane grocery delivery, tragedy struck one Greater Noida family in a deeply disturbing way. The accused, a 23-year-old named Gaurav who worked part-time as a hairdresser and delivered everyday essentials like milk turned predator on a July evening when he visited a woman’s apartment. Once inside, he brandished a knife and forced her to strip at knifepoint, terrifyingly threatening her sleeping son if she didn’t comply.
The woman’s brave decision to comply was born from fear of losing her child. Gaurav didn’t stop there. Over the next two months, he tormented her with repeated harassment. He scaled her fourth-floor balcony to frighten her, and the horror culminated when he began sharing the explicit footage sending it to her husband and even uploading it online.
The woman finally reached a breaking point on September 2 when Gaurav replayed the visuals for her husband and soon showed up at her doorstep around 6 a.m. Terrified and desperate, she contacted the police. The responding officers including those from Surajpur police station managed to arrest Gaurav while also seizing his phone as crucial evidence. He has been booked under relevant sections of criminal law: BNS section 76 for assault with intent to disrobe, 351(3) for criminal intimidation, and provisions under the IT Act.
This case exposes a frightening truth: sometimes those we allow into our homes under the guise of service can inflict the deepest harm. For the victim, the scars run deeper than any image she’s navigating the aftermath of sustained trauma and a complete breach of trust. As police investigate whether other women were targeted, this incident remains a haunting reminder of the fragility of safety.
