What Became of the Vice-President? Raut Seeks Answers from Shah

There’s a growing unease in political circles as former Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar’s whereabouts remain unknown. On August 11, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut sent a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, asking the simple yet powerful question: what happened to the VP? Dhankhar, who stepped down from his high office on July 21, citing health concerns, hasn’t made a public appearance since. This silence has given air to speculation and anxiety among politics and the public. In his letter, Raut insisted that transparency is not only necessary for political reasons, but also in honour of the dignity of the post he had ever handled.

In this episode, Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal made a scathing comment saying, "Hearing about the disappearance of women, but not about the disappearance of the Vice President," and demanded clarity again on the situation of ropes. Behind the curtain, other opposition and regional leaders are also seeking answers. Understandably, when a figure of such stature disappears from the public eye with no update, it creates a vacuum and raises unsettling questions. Is Dhankhar dealing with a serious health issue? Is there any political sensitivity being hidden? The public has a right to at least know that their former Vice-President is okay.

For now, the government’s silence remains. The question that hangs is simple: where is Dhankhar, and how is he doing? Clear answers would not only quell speculation but also uphold the dignity of the office he once served.
