A major controversy has erupted at Chanchal College in Malda district, West Bengal. The BJP has alleged that a student leader from the Trinamool Congress Student Congress (TMCP) attempted to burn pictures of Rabindranath Tagore, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Home Minister Amit Shah within the college campus.
According to the BJP, this act is not only disrespectful but also hurts the sentiments of the entire nation. Party leaders have demanded immediate action and that the responsible individual be punished.
Following the incident, tension gripped the college campus. BJP activists claim that some individuals associated with the Trinamool Congress deliberately engage in such activities to spread hatred in society.
At the local level, clashes and controversies related to student politics have occurred several times in the past. This time, the issue has become even more sensitive as it involves the images of national leaders and the Nobel laureate poet Rabindranath Tagore.
