After nearly 14 years together, television couple Jay Bhanushali and Mahhi Vij are rumoured to have quietly gone their separate ways. The duo, who tied the knot in 2011 and were once celebrated for their strong bond, have reportedly been living apart for some time.
According to sources close to the couple, divorce proceedings may already be underway, and discussions regarding the custody of their three children have allegedly taken place. However, neither Jay nor Mahhi has issued an official confirmation.
In recent interviews, Mahhi has subtly addressed the speculation without offering direct answers. During a podcast appearance, she firmly stated that she doesn’t owe anyone an explanation about her private life. When asked about the rumours, she quipped, “Are you my uncle? Will you pay my lawyer’s fee?” a remark that underscored her frustration with constant public probing.
She also spoke about the double standards women face during separations, pointing out how society often labels and judges them unfairly. “People are quick to draw conclusions without knowing the full story,” she added, referring to the scrutiny faced by women who are seen as “single mothers.”
Jay, on the other hand, has chosen to remain silent on the matter, refraining from any public comment. Observers have noted that the couple’s once-frequent social media posts and public appearances together have noticeably declined over the past year, hinting that trouble may have been brewing long before reports of a split surfaced.
The pair shares a daughter, Tara (born in 2019), along with their two foster children, Khushi and Rajveer. They had long been admired for their close knit family and strong partnership in the entertainment industry.
While fans express disappointment over the potential end of a beloved television couple’s journey, Mahhi has made it clear that they prefer to handle their personal matters privately.
