Delhi has been battered by intense rains, prompting Chief Minister Rekha Gupta to take the lead. Amidst strong winds and water -filled roads, he himself inspected sensitive areas such as Majnu Ka Tilla, Minto Road and ITO intersection. Their commitment was clear: "Negligence will not be tolerated," he warned and instructed the municipal teams to completely clean the drains and drain water rapidly.

The ground level of Gupta also included instructions to senior officials to monitor the 24x7 storwater system and fix the clear accountability of the field staff. In a letter to the Chief Minister of UP, he made it clear that such tasks should be stopped immediately which weaken the embankments, as the rise in the water level during the monsoon may threaten Delhi.
