PM Modi Urges Peace in Manipur, Aiming to Safeguard Children’s Futures
In a heartfelt address at Churachandpur, one of the worst-hit districts during Manipur’s ethnic unrest, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered an urgent plea: “I urge all outfits to embark on the path of peace to secure your children’s future.”
Modi expressed regret over the violence that has torn communities apart since 2023, promising that both the Government of India and he himself stand with those affected. Amid the destruction and displacement, he painted a vision of hope, saying that people in Manipur are now choosing peace.
Investment and infrastructure formed key parts of the Prime Minister’s message. He revealed over ₹7,300 crore worth of projects unveiled during the gathering measures designed especially to uplift tribal populations and to enhance connectivity across the state. Modi recalled that development efforts have been ongoing since 2014, with fresh emphasis now on ensuring remote, hilly regions are not left behind.
He urged various community organisations and factions to lay down arms and choose collaboration over conflict. These words were not just a call for peace but a promise: that the growth and stability being built are meant for every corner of Manipur and for every child growing up there. The scars of recent violence run deep, but the PM’s address sought to reassure that hope can heal, and future generations can live safely and with dignity.
