A man has been booked by Mankhurd police for allegedly setting a pit bull on an 11-year-old boy and laughing as the child was attacked and bitten. The disturbing incident was caught on video and posted online, raising suspicions that it was not just a cruel prank but a deliberate act aimed at gaining social media attention.

The attack occurred on Thursday, when the boy, Hamza Khan, was sitting in a parked auto-rickshaw in Mankhurd. Sohail Khan reportedly approached the rickshaw and released the pit bull into it, causing the dog to bite Hamza as he screamed in fear. Though Hamza managed to escape, the dog chased him for a short distance. Sohail was seen laughing in the front seat throughout the attack, according to police.

Hamza's father, Haleem Khan, lodged a complaint after seeing the video online. Sohail, who denies owning the dog, has been booked under sections 291, 125(a), and 125 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Authorities are also trying to identify the dog's owner and the person who filmed the video.
