Even if the sun rises from the west, the opposition will not accept it: Anupriya Patel's jibe on Operation Sindoor
New Delhi: During the discussion on Operation Sindoor in Parliament, Union Minister Anupriya Patel launched a sharp attack on the opposition. She said that the opposition does not trust their own Prime Minister's words, but readily believes statements made by foreign leaders.
She stated, “If a president of another country says something, the opposition will believe it, but they won't trust their own Prime Minister.” Taking a jibe, she added, “If they say the sun rises in the west, the opposition will believe that too.”
Anupriya Patel made this remark at a time when the opposition was continuously questioning the government in Parliament over Operation Sindoor and national security. Her sarcastic comment sparked laughter from the ruling side, while the opposition dismissed it as an attempt to deflect attention.
This ongoing debate in Parliament clearly reflects the deep trust deficit that still exists between the government and the opposition, even on sensitive issues like Operation Sindoor.
